This book has been all over social media lately, so I figured I might as well see what all the hype is about. I’m not very far into it, but the premise seems to be that parenting requires self-sacrifice and, as a culture, we’ve come to view self-sacrifice as an unreasonable imposition. (Uhm, yes, that’s one reason the divorce rate is so high). Seems obvious, but apparently it’s not. Because if it were really so obvious, there wouldn’t be so many people stunned that marriage and parenting aren’t all about them. I’ll come back after I’ve finished the book and let you know what I think.
